Hi friends! I’m Lauren from Lauren Taylor Made, and today, I have an enchanting project to share with you featuring some incredible products from the Miss Ink Stamps Magic Collection. If you’re a fan of mystical creatures, you’re going to love this Acromantula-inspired card! While I chose a color palette that leans into a Halloween aesthetic, this design is perfect for any time of the year—especially for fans of this magical world. And the best part? There’s a full video tutorial to guide you step by step!
For this card, I’m using the Fangtastic stamp set and its coordinating dies, the Spiders stencil, and the Punny Farm Frame dies to create a layered and dimensional background. I started by die-cutting a piece of vanilla-colored cardstock with the scalloped frame from the Punny Farm Frame set and then blending Distress Oxides in Antique Linen, Spiced Marmalade, and Rusty Hinge through the Spiders stencil for a soft gradient effect. To add more texture and depth, I splattered some brown watercolor across the background, creating a perfectly eerie touch!
Next, I stamped and colored three of the detailed spiders from the Fangtastic stamp set using alcohol markers in red-gray tones to give them a rich, shadowy effect. Before die-cutting them with the coordinating dies, I re-stamped them with VersaFine Clair Pinecone ink to enhance their bold outlines. The sentiment, Why is it always spiders?, was stamped onto the background, tying everything together with a fun nod to the inspiration behind this collection.
Once all my elements were ready, I assembled the card by layering patterned paper and cardstock for dimension. Foam adhesive helped pop up the scalloped frame and the spiders. To complete the design, I stamped the sentiment I’d face a giant spider for you on the inside of the card, along with a small spider for a finishing touch.
I absolutely love how this card came together, and I hope it inspires you to create your own magical masterpiece!
