Hi friends! I’m Lauren from Lauren Taylor Made, and today I’m thrilled to share a magical card creation with you, featuring the enchanting products from Miss Ink Stamps’ Magic Collection! In my latest YouTube video, I dive deep into crafting a whimsical scene using the Under the Stairs A2 Scene die, the Alice Background stencils, the Socks stencils, the Laundry Love stamp set, and the Letters stamp set. I’ve prepped all my stamped, colored, and die-cut elements, so we can focus on the fun part: layering stencils and assembling our captivating scene. Get ready to be inspired!
To start, I used the Alice background stencils to create a unique wallpaper design for my Under the Stairs scene. I trimmed a piece of white cardstock to 4.5 x 5.75 inches and used low-tack tape to secure it. Then, I applied Simon Hurley’s Minty Fresh ink through the large and small diamond stencils, creating a layered wallpaper effect. I then die-cut the scene using the EIEIO frame die set and assembled the staircase and cupboard pieces from the Under the Stairs E2 scene die. I added the picture frame images from the Letters stamp set, creating a little gallery wall, and then darkened the ground piece with Weeping Willow ink for added depth. Finally, I incorporated the adorable potted plant die-cut, setting the stage for our magical characters.
For the card base, I created a top-folding A2 card and decided to add a subtle sock background using the Socks stencils. I applied Cookie Dough ink to the edges of the cardstock and then layered Minty Fresh ink through the sock detail stencil, creating a soft, pastel background that complements the scene perfectly. I die-cut this panel with the EIEIO frame die and adhered it to the card base. Then, I attached the Under the Stairs scene panel.
Finally, I added my stamped and colored images, including the elf and magical wizard, using foam adhesive for dimension. I opted to place the sentiment, "Just a note so you don't think your friends aren't writing you," on the inside of the card. I hope you enjoyed this peek into my creative process and are eager to try your hand at crafting your own magical card!
