Hi friends! It’s Rick here, sharing a fresh and airy card design for Miss Ink Stamps today. With spring just around the corner, I wanted to create something that captures the soft, delicate feel of wildflowers in bloom. The Wildflower Stamp Set and Wildflower Coordinating Dies were perfect for this, and I paired them with the Scalloped Arch Stencils and Leafy Swirls Stencil to build a layered background full of texture and depth.

Soft Watercolor Florals with a No-Line Look
I love how versatile the Wildflower Stamp Set is—you can go bold with vibrant colors or keep things soft and dreamy like I did here. I stamped both floral bunches in Memento Toffee Crunch Ink onto Canson XL Watercolor Paper for a no-line effect, then used Distress Ink Reinkers to watercolor the images. The fluidity of the ink makes blending effortless, giving the flowers a natural, organic look. Once dry, I used the Wildflower Coordinating Die Set to cut them out, making it easy to layer them onto the card.
Layering Stencils for a Dimensional Background
The background started with the largest stencil from the Scalloped Arch Stencils, which I placed over a watercolor paper panel. I blended Tumbled Glass Distress Ink over the open area, then deepened the edges with Broken China. To add warmth, I brushed in a touch of Toffee Crunch Ink in the corners. Keeping the arch stencil in place, I layered the Leafy Swirls Stencil over it and blended more Broken China for a subtle pattern. This layering technique creates depth without adding bulk—one of my favorite tricks for soft backgrounds!
Bringing It All Together
Once the background was complete, I stamped a sentiment from the Wildflower Stamp Set in Versafine Onyx Black Ink and adhered the panel to a top-folding A2 card base using foam tape. I arranged the floral bunches on either side of the arch, popping them up with foam adhesive for dimension. A few Vintage Love Gem Stickers added just the right touch of sparkle, and some white gel pen highlights brought the watercolor florals to life.
I love how this card turned out—soft, elegant, and full of spring vibes! The mix of watercoloring and stenciling makes it feel light and airy while keeping the focus on those beautiful Miss Ink Stamps florals. Have you tried layering stencils like this for backgrounds? It’s such a fun way to add interest without overpowering your focal point.
