Hello Miss Inkers! Ali here and welcome back to the blog! I'm bringing you a card using the one-layered technique today - it's great for a quick card, or breaking a creative 'funk' and getting a lovely card done with minimal fuss. This card also follows the general CAS (clear and simple) rules - lots of white space, generally one layer and minimal elements.
I began the card by masking off the bottom 2/3 of the card. I covered the remaining area with my anti-static pad and then stamped the beautiful Magnolia Image a few times in Versamark Ink. I embossed these with white embossing powder & heat set.
I then used my brushes to apply ink over the embossing (embossed resist technique). I used distress Oxide Inks in Wilted Violet, Worn Lipstick, Picked Rasberry, fading out to a white at the top. I removed the masks (I use Heffy Memo Tape to mask) and stamped the sentiment from the Everyday Sentiments set. When dry 'buff' the embossing with a paper towel.
If you haven't tried a 1-layered card or CAS card, go for it! its so satisfying and simple!
Ali xx
