Ombre Woodcut Floral Background Card

Ombre Woodcut Floral Background Card

Hello Miss Ink-ers! Ali here and welcome back to the Miss Ink Blog for another colourful card. I have used the beautiful Woodcut Floral Background Stamp which is just a truly beautiful background - no matter what you stamp it with, or colour it like, it always looks stunning in my opinion!  Today I used a simple Emboss-resist technique and stamped it in versamark Ink and white embossed it on white cardstock. I stamped some of the individual floral images on separate pieces of white cardstock, the same way. I then used Blueprint Sketch, Peacock Feathers, Cracked Pistachio and Tumbled Glass Distress Oxide Inks and brushed on the colour in an ombre effect. I splatters some water over the panel.

I coloured the individual floral images with these same colours and fussy-cut them. I stamped the sentiment from Woodland Hearth Stamp set and white embossed it on black cardstock, cutting into a sentiment strip. I trimmed the background piece, attached the sentiment strip and adhered the florals (some with 3D foam to pop them up) and adhered these to a white card base.

This background stamp is hands-down my favorite from 2019 - I have used it so much and still have many ideas I want to try using it! Thanks for joining me again on the blog and see you soon!

Ali xx
