Hello! Today we're releasing a new set of 4 stencils! I've used the wave stencil in a sneaky manner to create this card. I've used the stencil on the water, but only partially to create some waves. In addition, I've used the Punny Farm Pigs stamps and die set to create a scene at the beach. My card on Tuesday will show much more of the stencil.
To make the card:
- I die cut an A2 sized panel (5.5 inches by 4.25 inches) and taped off certain areas so that I could apply distress ink in a neat manner on the panel. I used mermaid lagoon distress oxide ink and a color blend I made for the ocean, distress oxide ink Tea Dye for the sand, and distress ink tumbled glass for the sky.
- To make the waves, I used Miss Ink wave stencil and either a white gelly roll pen, white acrylic paint or Versamark ink and Wow embossing powder in "under the sea" color. I splattered white acrylic paint and copper acrylic paint with a brush over the sand.
- I stamped and die cut all the images from Punny Farm Pigs, as well as copic colored all the images. I die cut a wave groove into the ocean using Lawn Fawn's Slide on Over Waves die set; I glued the piece I had die cut on an A2 card base. Using a My Favorite Things slider piece, I glued the die cut chick to the slider piece and a piece of acrylic that was then glued to a penny. This provided some weight for the chick to move back and forth without turning upside down.
- Finally I adhered some clouds to the sky and the remaining chicks and pigs to the sand. To make one pig appear buried in the sand, I cut a slit into the panel and cut most of the pig's body off. Layering on Versamark ink and Sand embossing powder from Hero Arts created a "buried" look. Finally I applied a double layer of double sided adhesive foam to allow the slider enough room to move back and forth.
Thank you so much for stopping by!
