Ink Smooshing with Axolotls

Ink Smooshing with Axolotls

Hello! It's Kari with a new card and video to share. Today we're ink smooshing with Axolotls! Doesn't that sound fun? I'm bringing in a medium that I've NEVER ink smooshed with before...

Watch the video below or on YouTube:

I'm using the new Caffeinated Critters Stamp set for those cute Axolotls! Have you ever seen an Axolotl in real life? I never have, only in pictures. However, for a card you can color them up in any color you want! Today I used purples and blue-greens and a little of both colors on the fancy gills. I used the coordinating dies to cut them out (which sure made things a lot easier!)

I used an ink smooshing technique for the background, using distress inks and distress Mica sprays. Yes!! Mica Sprays! I've never used these for ink smooshing before, but they worked great and added some pearlescent shine to the background. Watch the video for the details on how to do this.

The EIEIO Frame Die set has all these frames (4 in total)...and I used them ALL for this card! Not only the frames, I also used the alpha dies to spell the word "ALOTL."

I love a good pun. How about you?

I hope you enjoyed this project today! See you soon with more cards!

Kari
