Happy Birthday Gardenia Card

Happy Birthday Gardenia Card

Good morning!! I hope you had a wonderful Christmas!! I am trying to build my stash of birthday cards for the upcoming year and decided to use the Gardenia stamp set to create this one with soft, no-line coloring!! Let's get started!!

I stamped the largest floral image from the Gardenia stamp set onto white cardstock with InkOn3 Fadeout Ink and colored it with Copic markers. I used the following colors on the flower petals: BV0000, B0000, RV000, V000, Y000, N1, N2 & N3. The leaves were colored with B34, YG17, YG13, YG03 and the stamen with YR24, Y06 & Y02. I added additional details with Polychromos colored pencils in the following colors: 247, 136, 129, 102, 233, 151, 165, 168, 283 & 185. I fussy cut around the image, but the Coordinating Die is available.

For the background, I white heat embossed one of the single blooms repeatedly onto a panel of watercolor paper. I smooshed some Distress Inks (Spun Sugar, Wilted Violet, Tumbled Glass and Squeezed Lemonade) onto my craft mat, diluted them with water and brushed them onto the panel. I splattered on some Wilted Violet ink and sprayed the entire panel with shimmer spray.

The sentiment, from the Everyday Sentiments stamp set, was white heat embossed onto a periwinkle cardstock strip. I adhered another strip of periwinkle cardstock onto the left side of a cardbase, along with some silver glitter tape. The watercolor panel was trimmed down and adhered as shown, along with the sentiment strip. The floral image was adhered with foam adhesive and a sprinkling of Royal Velvet Confetti Mix from Trinity was the finishing touch!

This card leaves me longing for spring...unfortunately, we have a few more months to go!!

Have a great week!!

Brenda
