Cozy Christmas Coffee Card with Miss Ink Stamps

Cozy Christmas Coffee Card with Miss Ink Stamps

Hi friends! Rick here, and I’m so excited to share today’s cozy holiday project with you on the Miss Ink Stamps blog. This card combines playful stenciling with an adorable critter from the Caffeinated Critters Stamp Set, all wrapped up in warm, rustic tones. It’s a perfect design for coffee lovers and holiday card enthusiasts alike! Plus, I’ll be sharing a double stenciling technique that adds incredible depth to your projects without any extra bulk.

Layered Stenciling for Extra Charm

The heart of this card is the double stenciled background created with the Latte Love Stencil and the Rounded Arch Stencils. To start, I cut a panel of smooth white cardstock (from my stash) to 3 ¾” x 5” and placed the Latte Love Stencil on top. Next, I layered the largest of the Rounded Arch Stencils over it, creating a framed effect. Using Distress Oxide Inks (Frayed Burlap and Ground Espresso from my stash), I blended through both stencils. The Latte Love pattern stayed perfectly within the arch opening, creating a clean, dimensional look.

Pro Tip: When working with multiple stencils, tape them down securely to prevent any slipping during blending. A good stencil mat is your best friend for this!

To finish the background, I added a touch of Vintage Photo Distress Oxide Ink (from my stash) around the edges for a warm, aged effect. Mounting the panel onto red cardstock and then a top-folding A2 card base gave it a polished, layered look that frames the design beautifully.

Bringing It All Together

The penguin from the Caffeinated Critters Stamp Set was stamped with black ink (from my stash), colored with markers (also from my stash), and die-cut using the coordinating Caffeinated Critters Dies. He takes center stage on the card, surrounded by a sentiment spelled out with the Modern Typeset Frame Dies.

To add festive sparkle, I used Stardust Stickles on the coffee and a few highlights on the penguin. White gel pen accents on both the letters and the penguin added a crisp, dimensional touch. Finally, a scattering of Clear Twinkle Rhinestones brought just the right amount of holiday magic.

This card was so much fun to create, and I hope it inspires you to try the double stenciling technique on your next project. Miss Ink Stamps’ products make it easy to create one-of-a-kind designs with layers of detail and charm. Happy crafting, and thanks for joining me today on the blog!
