Hello Friends! Hope you are having a Brewtiful Day! I’ve been enjoying all the Spring | Summer Coffee Lover’s Blog Hop Inspiration that I thought I would play along and share a Coffee-Themed card with you today.
For my card, I used the Brewtiful and Alice Background Stamp Sets. The Alice Background has such a bold center design that I wanted it to stand out as a focal point on my card and what better way to shine is with silver metallic embossing powder. After embossing the background pattern to a white card panel, I die cut a circle inlay to another white card panel and placed the panel over the embossed design. This allowed the center of the Alice Background to really stand out.
One of my favorite embossing techniques is to heat emboss vellum and then adhere the vellum to a white cardstock cutout. This technique creates a soft and delicate look for your images. For the Brewtiful coffee flower, I used WOW Embossing Powder perfectly named Caramel Macchiato and for the mug, Skinny Chai Latte. After I heat embossed the mug, I add a little shading using Copics in E0000, E51 and then E70 for a hint of coffee.
Before adhering the heat embossed pieces to the embossed Alice pattern, I stamped “Rise and Grind” with VersaFine Clair Acorn Pigment Ink. To pull some more weight to the bottom and balance out the card, I added some copper-tone washi to the bottom of the card panel. I adhered the entire panel with foam tape to a Papaya color card stock. For the last and final touch, I added some clear gems to the white card panel and centers of the coffee flowers.
Thanks a Latte for stopping by! I hope you enjoyed this Coffee-Themed card and you’re inspired to use your background stamps and coffee images in new ways with embossing powders.
Big Paper Hugs!
Emily
