Hi friends! Rick here, and I’m so happy to be back on the Miss Ink Stamps Blog today. I’ve got something really fun to share with you—a Fortune Teller Tower Pillar Card that combines magic, texture, and a bit of mystery. This card was such a blast to create, and I can’t wait to walk you through the details.
Mixing Magical Elements
Interactive cards are some of my favorite projects to create because they always deliver that extra wow factor. This Fortune Teller Tower Card is no exception! I used the Fortune Teller Stamp Set, Magical World Stamp Set, and Owls Stamp Set from Miss Ink Stamps to create a layered and dynamic scene. The tower pillar design gives the card so much dimension, making it feel like you’re peeking into a magical world.
The Fortune Teller Stamp Set really sets the tone for the card. The detailed images create such a whimsical feel, and the coordinating dies make it easy to cut everything out cleanly. I paired it with the Magical World Stamp Set for some extra magical touches—it’s amazing how well these sets work together. And those adorable owls from the Owls Stamp Set? They add the perfect touch of charm and mystery.

Creating Texture and Depth
To give the card even more dimension, I used the Cobblestone Stencil and the Perspective Floor Stencil to create a rich background. Layering stencils like these is a great way to add visual interest without overwhelming the design. I kept the color palette dark and moody to enhance the magical feel, blending shades of deep gray and purple for a mysterious vibe.
Pro Tip: When using stencils, try layering two different ink colors for added depth. Starting with a lighter color and then blending in a darker shade toward the edges creates a soft glow effect that makes the background feel more dimensional.
Assembling the Tower Design
The tower pillar structure makes this card stand out. It’s surprisingly simple to put together, and the interactive element makes it extra special. Once the stenciled background was dry, I layered the stamped images, using foam tape to give the scene a little lift. The fortune teller image takes center stage, with the owls perched nearby and magical accents filling in the scene.
Pro Tip: When creating an interactive card, make sure to test the fold and any pop-up elements before adhering everything down. This helps prevent any misalignment once the card is fully assembled.
Finishing Touches
To pull everything together, I added a few subtle white gel pen highlights and a little glitter for a touch of shimmer. It’s a small detail, but it really catches the light and gives the card that extra magical feel.
I love how this card came together—there’s just something so satisfying about an interactive design with a magical twist. The mix of detailed stamping, layered stencils, and the tower structure really makes this one feel special. I hope this inspires you to create your own magical tower cards!
